FTS UL 1316 fuel tank dip charts are engineered to provide accurate volume measurement for single- and multi-compartment underground fiberglass tanks. Typically, the End Tank represents the larger compartment in an FTS two-compartment design, while the remaining compartment uses a Base Tank chart. These color-coded charts simplify identification, improve accuracy, and support compliant fuel management.
Note: For multi-compartment fuel tanks, the UL 1316 label will be found in the collar of the Base Tank.
Base Tank Charts (Blue) are used for single-compartment tanks or the base section of multi-compartment tanks and feature two convex domes with both ends curving outward.
End Tank Charts (Orange) are designed exclusively for two-compartment tanks and account for one convex and one concave dome configuration.
Below are two pictures with details highlighting these different charts. The gray squares on top of the tank are the standard (3) 4″ Tank Wall Fittings. On the Multi-Compartment tank, the gray triangle above the bulkhead is unusable space – used only for venting if applicable
Base Tank Charts (Blue)
Charts are blue and labeled “SINGLE COMPARTMENT OR BASE TANK.”
Note: The gray area shown on the multi-compartment diagram is part of the end tank, but the dome from the base tank can interfere with internal piping. If a fitting was placed on the top of the tank in that area, then it can only be used for tank venting.
